Additionally, in the last 10-15 years the amount of LED/blinking throws has skyrocketed!

I was on one of Endymion's last floats, going down the parade route, the amount of blinking lights in the crowd is a sight to behold. It actually adds to the riding experience.

The other day I caught a plastic ninja sword, those were highly coveted items when I was a kid. Catching two meant a surefire ninja sword fight with my brother until they either broke or our mom got pissed and threw them away

At Spanish town, was giving these mini weiner rings and butt plugs out.

Pretty comical watching peoples faces when they would catch it and realize what it was

Shouldn’t be surprising at Spanish Town.

I got hit with a full beer at a parade here once. I was on the float.

Hadn't seen the ninja swords in years, we now get these cheap things that break after 2-3 good whacks

To another poster's question, the group next to us caught 2 spears. Kids proceeded to sword fight as if they were swinging bats for a solid 2 minutes before one of the mom's got cracked

I caught a bunch of pairs of nice socks at Bacchus. One of the things I actually kept and will put in my rotation.

Lake Charles' Children's Parade

Well this sounds terrible.

The Children’s Parade is in the middle of the afternoon and it gives the kids a chance to be involved in a parade. They ride the floats and throw the beads. There a couple of adults on the float with them for supervision.

Very few doubloons now, and that was a favorite of mine as a kid.

I had a crown royal sack full of them from over the years. I haven't seen it in forever, but I bet it's packed in a box in my attic somewhere.

They were used as bait to get the masses away from the desired catcher of throws

One year, I found a bunch of rubber shrimp. They were perfect weight and hand sized to really get a fat throw to to people in the way back.

Then people realized they caught a rubber shrimp and were confused.

The mechanical airhorn thing Tucks threw is just plain evil. It will bust your eardrums.
