I sliced the tip of my pinky off with a peeler with a cucumber. Hurt like a mofo. I'm scared to peel cucumbers now.

Got it. The gif is weird. It makes it looks like he slices down to the board and then drags the knife across the board and through the bulk of the onion like it's a hologram or something. The video makes it clear he's doing normal cuts with down and up strokes, albeit at superhuman speed.

I have a Mouli instead of graters or slicers. Youtube of Mouli

Mine is all metal, "as seen on TV", inherited from my maternal grandmother. Use it a lot for hash browns handles the scatterings, smothering's and the coverings.
