Anyone here have elementary aged kids in private schools in Mandeville?

We are looking mostly at OLL, Mary Queen of Peace, and Cedarwood.

I went to OLL back in the day.

My kids did preschool/daycare at Cedarwood Have heard that kids that go through the school there have trouble when they leave. We ended up leaving for St. Michaels

Have friends that rave about MQP

I have experience with all, and they are all great. In my experience, the biggest difference is that OLL is more focused on the school, MQP is more focused on the kids. Cedarwood is focused on both, it’s just small - especially as the kids move up in age.

our boys did Pontchartrain/Tchefuncte/one year Mandeville Jr. then St. Pauls. They both were/are stellar students and well rounded.

I thought one of the few perks of living in Mandeville was that you didn't have to send your kids to private school?

Even the best public school is still a public school.

We’re doing The Little School, St. Peter’s (or maybe Holy Family), then SSA. All in Covington though. I’d probably do OLL in Mandeville but just my opinion.

My kid goes to OLL. We toured QOP, but it just didn’t feel right. We have been happy with OLL so far. She only been there one year - she was at Sacred Heart last year but we moved.

She went to summer camp at Cedarwood - it was ok…she will be at BEau Chene summer camp this year. Got some specific questions, I’ll answer.

ETA: I’d like my kid to go to MHS, but we will figure that out as we go.

Yeah it’s dumb. I know people who live out here in Katy and pay tuition instead of using the free public schools which are the whole reason for living in the suburbs.

See the reaction to the Florida bill and you might understand how parents might be wary of what their kids may be taught at even highly regarded public schools.
