Last nights parade was nothing compared to Eve

Orpheus is in a rebuilding phase and is not what it used to be right now. They are only on their second or third parade after having been inactive for a couple of years. Krewe of Eve puts on a damn good parade and anyone who says they don't throw is full of it. I remember women's Krewes having that rep when I was young but they don't suffer from that at all.

It's the lack of attention to detail and the sloppy delivery

Yep. Women's krewes like Minerva and Shangri-la when I was a kid and the current women krewes in metairie are chintzy. I know Eve throws a ton because I help my wife and her friends load their float and the amount of crap those women put on the float is ridiculous. They can't move around up there for the first third of the parade with the sacks of throws laying around.

Bet you didn't feel unsafe walking back to your car though

You need to go to Hercules or terranians in houma if you want a real parade. The loudest stereos you'll ever hear on a float.
Eta:
I think the OP just personified the typical New-Orleans-superiority-Complex everyone is always bitching about. Yes Orpheus was not a thriller, but get over yourself man.

Orpheus sucks. Eve, in the fricking rain, was much better.
I agree completely. Orpheus needs to get its shite together.
A lot of pervy looking old men dangling shite beads like gold.

Last night was great family atmosphere, if that is your thing. The Eve parade is indeed better than present day Orpheus, but it is also on the first weekend of Mardi Gras festivities. A lot of people are either out of town with kids or in the city this weekend.
My group had 2 four years olds, a three year old, and a five month old. All of the kids had a blast, none of them got run over or hurt in any way, none of them cried for any reason, and I drank a lot of beer before and during the parade. Anything else on top of that was lagniappe.
Okay, despite my previous rant, all that is true as well. It was a safe and easy time, laid back for parents but fun for the kids.
But the Krewe still needs to get its shite together.

As someone else said for now it's a shell of its former self.
This is its second year parading give it time
Better parades on north shore are Eve and Olympia in mandeville/Covington. As a warning if you didn't like Orpheus DO NOT stay for Fat Tuesday they are designed for small kids and very short.

Sure, the Nola parades are more edgy then that vanilla bs in Mandeville last night but if you feel unsafe then you're doing it wrong.
Use a little common sense when parking, walking, and choosing where you stand and you will have nothing to worry about.

Northshore parades suck donkey testicles now. They were a lot better in the 80's and early 90's. Floats were bigger and better and tons more throws. I hate going to any of them now.

I went to Orpheus last year and it was worse then. Parade was over in 15 minutes and a joke like you mentioned. I think that part of the issue is that the Northshore parades should not on the weekend heading into Mardi Gras, as the parades uptown get all of the attention and planning, and people like myself are preparing for Bacchus, Lundi Gras, etc.
However Olympia in Covington is a fun parade, held at the perfect time. I only attended once but it was a blast and a good kickoff to the parade season.

I never got shot or run over at a Mandeville parade so there's that.
