In some places they are. In many more places, there are de facto, if not de jure, shutdowns.

I can tell you from experience that unless your buddy is a general officer, he doesn't know shite.

Wuhan didn’t do this. We won’t either.

Europe has told China to hold its beer. Their actions are quickly approaching those seen throughout China. Europe has been a good barometer of what we’ll see here.

Did no one read the freaking article in the original post? I’m not in support of this freaking lockdown...far from it. I’m also not “spreading rumors”. This is something that is already taking place throughout Europe. We’re the land of “You can’t tell me what to do”, so I have a hard time even imagining something like mandatory quarantines throughout the entire country. That being said, places like SF and NYC are doing their best to keep up with the French and Germans. I guess we’ll see. “Uncharted waters” has never been more applicable.

I think we’ll avoid it in Mississippi for quite a while as long as you dirty Louisiana fricks stay down there

You’re probably right. If you can keep NO out of MS, does that give us the right to keep Jackson out of Louisiana?

I don’t think anyone that currently lives in Jackson has ever left Jackson

You guys are fricking idiots.

Every bar is Louisiana is shut the frick down. Restaurants can only serve take out. Everyone with their big swinging dicks acting talking shite about how "they can't do this and they can't do that" needs a reality check. It's going to happen everywhere.

It's not fear mongering, it's called reality.

This is the sort of thread that is causing widespread panic. What we actually need is someone in leadership to say we will go this far, and no further. The public needs to know where the "lockdown" ends. At this point, the cure likely worse than the disease, and the media is out front with trying to play it up into the end of the world, and trying to blame it on Trump.

Sorry, I realize that this virus is a bad thing, but we are not being served with blanket shut downs with no thought of what those do to people who will suddenly have no jobs and no income.

People with anxiety make their future fears current reality in their head, hence the anxiety. Also known as "future tripping".

The evidence we have today is zero that there will be a complete shutdown. Play it out in your head. Does it seem feasible that the entire city will be shutdown with every place of business shut down for a month? Come on man. It's not going to happen. I think the biggest part of the "shutdown" has already happened. No school for kids, no sports, no fun activity, no going out to bars and restaurants. And if the type of work supports it, work from home. Practice social distancing and wash your hands more than usual. That's about the best you can ask for.

Spreading bullshite you heard from Private Snuffy is a lot closer to fear mongering than it is to reality.

And yet you act like this is so normal. This is what I find astounding.

Any rational person can already see what is happening. First it was large gatherings, then schools, now restaurants and bars, next will be domestic travel and then finally confined to our homes unless you need something to survive.

Real strong rumor they are going to shut interstate travel down Friday.

Jesus.

I guess your "buddy" has been sitting in on all the meetings taking place in DC where the real people who would make that kind of decision are at, right? And even if he was, he decides that when he gets home, he will risk top secret national security Intel and tell his buddy kanibal.

Sounds legit.

Not really. You said there was zero evidence that we could potentially face more drastic measures. Then you brushed off measures that have already been taken (and which many of us consider drastic) as if they were no big deal, and that's where things would stop.

Martial law lockdown followed by mandatory vaccinations and RFID chip implantation is my prediction.

It's going to be 0 days max.

The shutdown im referring to is non essential businesses; what they’re doing in San Francisco, Italy and Spain. That’s going to happen in many cities. It may not be a nationwide order, but it will happen in more places than just SF.

I’m NOT referring to a complete shutdown- including markets, pharmacies, banks etc. that’s what these crazy fear mongers are talking about. No way that happens.
