You cram 8 million people into an area 1/5 the size of Louisiana and you have traffic everywhere. That's Houston..

Woodlands certainly has bad traffic. But the surrounding area has gotten crazy. I've been here 11 years and the amount of neighborhoods popping up around the Woodlands has gone crazy. 1488 and 2978 are gridlock now. 45 is handling all those new people and it's just a lot of people. I don't find traffic within the Woodlands has changed too much. But I work all over the Houston area so I deal with it. Still am happy to live here with all the other benefits.

It's funny the Louisiana sunshine pumpers never mention that they could make 2x what they currently make, and maybe be able to send their kids to public schools, and be able to move jobs easier, etc. Those idiots could work at a power plant in the middle of nowhere, or a roof fab shop in Navasota for metal work, all kinds of stuff, but they just don't want to hear all the reasons how they're crippling their families.

But, call a bad play on 3rd down for LSU, someone needs to pay a multi million dollar buyout with someone else's money. Meanwhile, Louisiana drains potential from you, your wife, and your kids, every month you spend there. There is fishing here too, dumbasses.

Downtown Houston to Cynthia Woods for a Friday night concert can be a 2 hour drive.

The Woodlands is nice, but if you are going to live there, don't say you're from Houston. You are from The Woodlands.

How is this news? The woodlands traffic has always been a shvt show. Didn’t people die trying to evacuate a hurricane there due to traffic?

It shouldn't be. It was pretty congested 20 years ago, as are all other suburbs of Houston (as a previous poster stated).

I'll tell people Houston since they'll have no idea where The Woodlands is located.

Don't be a douche, you're talking about rush hour traffic, which is your fault for scheduling anyway. That is not regular traffic outside of rush hour. I get 99 is a gift, because I can generally do high speeds without much interference, but I can be in the WL from further away in half the time. But I don't go to concerts at 8PM on a Friday there.

Plan, or suffer. Or you can live in Louisiana, and suffer your entire life.

Yet still easier to get around than Baton Rouge and New Orleans

To fair, Houston does cover a radius larger than any other major city I've ever lived in. Does anyone know where TF Baytown or Sugarland are? No. Does anyone know where Woodstock is? No, but they just say ATL.

This is the same tired argument in Atlanta (and in Houston) that you're either ITP (inside 285) or OTP and then you don't qualify for XYZ. There are parts of Houston that on a Sunday morning at 0600 I can't get to in under an hour doing man speed. That's rare among metro areas above 5M.

Probably so

and New Orleans
No way. New Orleans is pretty small and has multiple routes to get around.

Reminder: This post was about traffic in the Woodlands.

And yes, when my favorite artists text me and ask when to play at the amphitheater in The Woodlands I sometimes get confused and tell them to play on a Friday night because I forget how bad traffic can be. Total douche move, I know.

A little more to the story. They gave all the information needed. But were detained for a number of hours.
