LITTLE RIVER, S.C. - Rolling up some plastic windows on his 46-foot cabin cruiser Wednesday, Masten Cloer admitted he was nervous. A new weather forecast predicted Hurricane Florence changing paths to make a landfall near his marina at the border of North Carolina and South Carolina. Cloer, himself, though, is thus far undeterred. The 57-year-old from Hudson, North Carolina, is planning to ride out the powerful, destructive storm on his boat, named Later, while it's docked at the marina, located on the Intracoastal Waterway about 2 miles from the Atlantic shore of Cherry Grove Beach. He's one of dozens of boat owners at the Lightkeepers Village Marina who have chosen to keep their boats docked during the impending storm.LINK

I hope he remembers to write his name, home street address and next of kin contact information in permanent marker on each of his thighs.
That will save the local coroner a lot of time....

I hope skipper at least has Mary Ann with him.

It's safer than staying in a beach house, but dumb nonetheless.
The upside is you can navigate back to deeper waters when the surge subsides, but you're taking an unnecessary risk to your life.

He should start in on the Hunter S. Thompson daily routine right about now.

Honest answer, safer than a house.

It's a boat. Move it out of the way, genius.

He doesn't want to survive, he wants to live.

I'd say a lot of that depends on his mooring lines. He better keep adjusting them as the storm surge rolls in or that fricking boat is gonna end up on its side.
