Well, in today’s time that has become true for some people. I never thought it would be possible to complain about people moving into your neighborhood and fixing up houses, making things nicer, and increasing the value
This is the equivalent of parents being furious about a new smart kid joining their kids class and “ruining the curve with his smarts and hard work”
I get it I do. That’s the typical white privilege response, and I admit it has merit until you understand the social & cultural robbing & whitewashing that is taking place in these historically black neighborhoods. You can say all that, yea, QOL is improving. But you have to at least acknowledge the feelings of the people who built these communities

You also may want to go look up the history of the 7th ward

The way he says permits and new or-le-ins is triggering the frick out of me.
Ha, same. Mainly with permit, no so much New Orleans. But, come to think of I don't know why we even pronounce it differently. It's spelled the same. Has a similar meaning.
I honestly don't blame the dude for being pissed. I would be too. As loud, obnoxious, and ghetto as he was acting, he was right. Chick had no argument and the best she could think to do was show her arse? He knew from the start she was a $5 hoe

So how would you have it go? No one move in, no one fix anything up, no businesses move in, no one improve the look of the neighborhood? Is that what you're suggesting? Because in that situation they bitch too.
They literally bitch no matter what is done. Either way they play the victim.

White Flight --> Racist
Gentrification --> Racist

Gentrification --> Racist

The key is to give them free markets, free housing, free everything in their neighborhoods and build the houses for them

quoted for the next thread we have when a white lady goes nuts on her black neighbors

Rich white people are about to riot over their assessments recently to begin with. So don’t give me that shite
Rich white people riot over assessments because the taxes collected go to fund programs for racist assholes in shitty neighborhoods that refuse to help themselves cause “muh cultcha, yo”. These same people bitch over the shitty conditions they themselves created while opposing white initiated development that would raise their home’s value and thereby their own net worth.
They’re all clowns destined to wallow in their own misery cause everyone else who isn’t a clown got
The hell out of “dey hood” and are bitching about the assessment their white neighbors are rioting over

You miss the point. Property value skyrocketing makes it unaffordable for the people that already lived in that neighborhood
This is wrong. If he has a mortgage on his house his payments don't increase because some white people move next door. Mortgage payments are not marked to market. They are fixed.

mortgage payments change because of escrow all the time (property tax and insurance costs)

If you are being honest about New Orleans history these neighborhoods were white before they became black.

You're degrading the best part of the whole episode? They all seem like horrible people, and I don't care to discuss gentrification.
