Man charged with recording sexual acts of Madison Brooks

According to court documents, in January 2023, LSU student Madison Brooks was killed after being hit by a car after leaving a Baton Rouge bar.
Casen Carver is one of four defendants that was accused of raping Brooks on the same night. The defendants offered to take Brooks home before she was abandoned in a subdivision where she was hit by a Lyft driver.

Arrest documents state that Carver was charged with principal to third-degree rape on Jan. 30, 2023. The charge of video voyeurism was added on Jan. 11, 2024.

Didn't the defense say there's no DNA evidence of rape? Seems like video voyeurism implies there's footage of them, so that blows a hole in their "maybe it wasn't my clients doing the raping" defense?

In my opinion that's why they charged him so hard even though he was only driving. I also think unfortunately it's also only going to add to the idiotic narrative of "this is only a story because it involves a pretty white girl and black guys", especially if he gets immunity in exchange for testifying against the other defendants.
