If you have ever driven through atlanta, you would understand the drum haha.
Really, I live in GA and gun crime has went way down since this bill has been passed. People carry the ARs for attention, but for us CCL people, the bill is great.

Strong supporter of the 2nd amendment. This is just stupid though. Open carrying a rifle into an airport is just seeking attention and honestly paints the gun community as a bunch of tin foil whackos.
It's difficult to explain to younger gun nuts that this is abnormal behavior. This type of behavior has always been viewed as ignorant.

When was the last mass shooting in Georgia? I'll hang up and listen.

If a butterfly in the Amazon flaps his wings, an inbred tin foil hat redneck fricks up the perception of gun owners in Atlanta?

without researching each instance you posted...what qualifies as a "mass shooting"?

I'm thinking there is a difference in some people's definitions of "mass shooting."

So what's the acceptable level of visibility or gun type that will not offend all of the people who otherwise claim to be in support of 2nd amendment and open carry rights?
Is the rifle is okay but 100 rounds is too much? If so, how many rounds is okay for him to have?
Is the size of the gun a problem, but a smaller rifle or handgun equally visible would be okay?
If he was concealing the rifle, would that be okay? Out of sight out of mind?
Or are we just back to suggesting open carry is never appropriate because it makes people uncomfortable?

Guy abides by the law, exercises freedom, gets crapped on.

Absolutely. Me personally, anything less than say, 14 or 15 bodies is just, well, an incident. 8, 9, 10 =

i'd like to se the demographic statistics on actual mass shootings. seems like it's almost always some crazy white dude, with the occasional outlier.

I personally will never open carry in a public place for these reasons. I don't care if other people do, because it's their right to. Like I said earlier when I'm carrying, the last thing I want to do is say "hey look at me, I have a gun".
I think having open carry is an important right to have to protect our liberties. I also don't believe open carrying a rifle in an airport on a perfectly normal day is how the law is intended. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.
All I need for "safety" I can comfortably fit in my pocket or inside my waistband. What kind of shoot-out is this guy expecting to get into that he needs to carry a rifle with a 100 rounds that he needs, for as he says, "safety"? That's just overkill... or he needs to spend some time on the range and become a better shot.
Open carrying a rifle in a crowded airport just screams looking for trouble and attention to me.
