I wonder if she was flirting with him and the friends thought they were into each other and she was of sound "enough" mind to leave.
I am not giving this guy, because of other facts about him and the situation, any benefit of the doubt. Just thinking maybe that's why the friends left?

yeah it's pretty weird.
i think we're all assuming the victim was white too, which might not be the case. that's neither here nor there, just a thought.

If the "friends" had to help her change and remove her makeup, she was in no condition to be alone. Sounds like she needs new friends.
