A man accused of posing as a San Francisco 49ers player to scam women out of about $1.3 million appeared in a video, apparently pretending to sign with the NFL team.quote:However, representatives for the NFL and 49ers told investigators Love had never been employed by either organization, according to an FBI affidavit.
Authorities say 35-year-old Daejon Love used a fake NFL persona and romantic relationships to convince women to give him money for investments that did not exist.
Investigators say Love used dating apps and social media to meet women and portrayed himself as either a 49ers player or wealthy real estate developer.
Authorities say 35-year-old Love and 18-year-old Taylor Jamie Chan
who allegedly posed as Love’s financial adviser, used fake investment accounts and promises of large returns to convince women to send money. quote:Video in link. Might have not have been a 49er but he definitely a player
At least 26 women in California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington allegedly lost about $1.3 million. Love and Chan were arrested Aug. 24 in Boise, Idaho. Both face charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud. The FBI believes there may be additional victims.

Saw a twitter post that was pretty funny about a fake NFL players scamming women out of millions while an NFL owner is paying $140 for women in Ohio. Their version was funnier, but I don't have time to try and find it now.
