This is what I expected before moving to Louisiana. I was disappointed.

Go to Lutcher or basically any small town along the Mississippi river downstream from Donaldsonville and upstream of Kennah brah.

Bayou Cajuns would frick up some prairie cajuns.

Whatever. Once you get a bayou Cajun on solid ground, their webbed feet are nothing but a hindrance.

This area is where all the true Cajuns are.

I'm as Cajun as they get, from Vermilion Parish.

Same, and when I travel people will ask where I'm from, I tell them Louisiana. Then they typically ask where I was from before I moved to Louisiana

Yep, nooooo Cajuns in Ascension Parish. It's not like the place is drowning in Babins, Bougeois, Marchands, Clouatres, Leblancs, Templets, and Tureaus or anything like that.

I will admit the accents are really weak out there due to all of the transplants working in the plants, though.

Never knew that about Gonzales. 90% of that side of my family still lives in da parish. I remember the old ones speaking some weird Spanish when I was growing up. They would annoy the shite out of my pawpaw, because he was from Mexico, and could barely understand them

Probably all pronounced incorrectly

Notice Ville Plattians like to replace ask with axe. “I’ll axe my maw maw” for example.

I’ve never “asked” anyone anything

In all my job interviews I tried to have as little of an accent as possible. After several out of state interviews, I finally got to a firm where the interviewers accents were thicker than mine and I knew it was the perfect place

I've heard like 5 different versions And each have a restaurant that's pronounced that way (BAA-ger-ons in Port Allen v. Brr-ger-ons in Baton Rouge)

The worst has to be Bercegeay. I've heard it pronounced (Ber-say-Jay) and (Ber-SAW-Jay). There's also Savoy (Saav (like salve)-wah vs S'-voy)

Need to move your lines farther east and not as far west and NW
Leesvile, Deridder, Oakdale and Oberlin are about as Cajun as California

I wouldn’t even consider Lake Charles Cajun, the line should stop in Welsh and then go N to Basile and Duralde and the go s to include Cameron parish

Ascension and Assumption parish should be included
Also Pointe Coupee, WBR, Ibberville all should be included even though they are mix of cajun/creole

Our accent in Lafourche is much more flat

All the the A’s are drawn out and flat
