I rarely went to Rouses because there are 5 closer grocery stores. I will make an effort to give them my patronage.

Speaking of Rouses, how about the home one of the family members is building in Thibodaux...

My options in Gulf Shores unless I go North of the bridge is Rouses or Wal Mart. I’ve been to Rouses twice since Wednesday. Easy decision.

Now that the EBT crowd isn't going, maybe they can step up their meat game and stop putting out those paper thin steaks

Whoever buys that house next is going to get a hell of a deal

Someone posted tis from the other Thread...
Only the left would try to harm something or someone that tries to help their community..
And I am also sure that anyone that has even been in the Dome during a Saints games has seen Rouses spend money for advertising and I do also believe that they have helped many a child...
It is a very very sad times in our country... Who was the Actor? Wendell ????
That's another problem... I am sure that Rouses has done 150,000 x times more help to the community that Wendell ever did.. Yet his voice carries more weight.. When Celebrities opinions are more important than actually financial assistance for our communities and youth...

Raised 2 sons in Thibodaux back when Mr. Rouse was still running the at-the-time only Rouse's store in existence. He was a huge supporter of the City's Dixie Baseball programs, donating thousands of dollars to supply all the teams, boys & girls, with shirts, leggings & hats. Later, as youth basketball took off, he would do the same for all those kids. His family subsequently continued their support for the City's kids. A good family who has always stepped up when asked for any kind of help with the City's youths. These are good people who self made themselves into what they are today.

It’s kinda funny to me. Rouses in white areas will be fine. In urban areas the boycott might work but who does that really hurt?
Muh food desert.

Well there you have it.
Seriously though, you are exactly right.

Kind of like the $3.85MM home for sale in Morgan City.

Yeah, there's no way anyone is buying that for anywhere close to that price

I can assure you rouses aren't empty. The mouth breathers probably went early in the morning to snap propaganda photos for mouth breathers like yourself to eat it up

I went to Rouse's in Daphne this am. Wish there was a boycott. a ton of people this am
The one on Juban seems to be getting a lot of traffic from Baton Rouge. So if they boycott, I will be very happy.

The Rouses on Bootlegger rd in Covington is packed so i guess northshore baws dont care much about it.

So if we all boycott, my options are now:
Walmart, where we know if they exist in an area it ruins things financially
Winn Dixie, where the stores are dated and trashy AF
Whole Foods, where you add a 0 to everything you buy to make it 'healthy' and 'organic'
Breaux Mart, where there's like 3 in the area? Its not bad, but I'm not driving 20+ minutes to go to one.
Zuppardo's/Dorignac's/Balestra's/Mom and Pop stores, all of which are either expensive or lack things I need
idk, I'm good and not a petulant child. People can support whatever the hell they want politically, I think I'm mature enough to understand opinions (whether I agree or not). Supporting Rouses' builds that nice house, but it also supports a frick ton of farmers and workers who live locally.

I am sorry, but from a country that was birthed in rebellion, the storming the capital thing really hasn’t gotten to me.

What’s funny is that Wendell once tried to open a heathy grocery store in a “food desert” in Marrero and it was a total fricking disaster.
Sterling Farms grocery, co-owned by Wendell Pierce, closes after just one year

Yeah LOL at thinking calling for a boycott of Rouses would have a noticeable impact. For starters 90% of people don’t even know about it and only a small fraction of anyone talking about a boycott actually shops at Rouses in the first place.
Posted on 1/9/21 at 12:47 pm to lsuwontonwrap
I’ll be making a major groceries run there soon
Posted on 1/9/21 at 12:50 pm to TheAstroTiger
And those people will then complain endlessly about mythical ‘food deserts.’
