Make Mandeville Great again?

Mandeville has changed and not for the better. It's like Jefferson Parish north. What can be done to make it better?

Move back to Jefferson Parish

Not exactly what I was thinking. How about limiting, or taxing the heck out of new developments? Maybe a quick IQ test to be permitted to cross the Causeway.

What has changed specifically about it for the worst and what date did this occur? I’ve been here for about 30 years and of course it has seen huge changes over that time but overall my only complaint is the traffic.
Coming from someone that lived in New Orleans recently Mandeville is AWESOME!

I don't disagree. Still a great place to live, especially compared to New Orleans.
I also agree that the traffic is the biggest change and the biggest problem.
It also seems like Mandeville is a lot less green that it used to be. Every week some tree filled lot is cut down and replaced by a strip mall.
I also see what the rest of the country is coming to. Homeless people. Defecation in public. Criminals not going to jail. Crime. I don't want that to happen here.

I grew up in Mandeville and now live in New Orleans. You’ve got it backwards.
Eta: Although, Mandeville is typically a better place to raise a family than NOLA

Not saying you’re wrong but without more specific examples of current problems, I don’t think anyone could realistically answer your question with anything better than a lucky guess.

So it's becoming Dallas?

Kick all the south shore trash out?

Sounds like you’re either trolling or just complaining to complain. Mandeville is awesome! I do agree that we need to limit certain developments.

Mandeville / Covington keeps clearing land to build cookie cutter subdivisions for 220k a piece.
Meanwhile you can’t get pretty much anywhere in Metairie / New Orleans that’s a decent neighborhood for that price point.
As such, low income and undesirables move to the Northshore. I tell people that all the time, you can only brag about your low housing prices for so long before it becomes a negative.

Born and raised on the NS. Boy has it changed. There are even folks begging for money near the Fresh Market. Crazy times.
