Damn, he's live tonight.

Yeah. He's giving all the donations to a friend of his who lost everything in the fires. He's (the guy he's donating to) a pilot and is the guy who runs all the helicopter tours for the LA area.

shite like that is why I generally avoid talking politics with Liberals in real life anymore. Anything we say is a "conspiracy theory from Fox News!" Just listen to their own fricking words --- I wouldn't think of the things they say even if I wanted to make something up.

Good for you. Do you know my background? It’s laughable you are sitting here saying there was absolutely nothing that could have helped these become less severe. Laughable. Again, I’m not suggesting it’s not a disaster and fires don’t happen. But the level of incompetence in their management is laughable.

All of this.

I grew up out West and lived in California. Thank God I do not live there anymore. That place is as poorly run as my company's C-suite (I predict that we cease being a going concern in 2027). Climate Change/Global Warming is such BS, but hey, one useful idiot at a time. The largest threat to the Government is the ability to think for oneself. Groupthink is for people who are NPC, the useful idiots that Lenin alluded to. Unfortunately, many of them are educated, have Mensa-level IQ's, and know every book that exists.

Meanwhile, where I live, we will be below average for 29 of the 31 days in January, while the other two days were right at average. I know that's only in a vacuum, but lol, anyway.

Every level of this involved the government and politics. There’s no getting around this. Have you read this thread for examples?

If you want to lay some of the blame on government ineptitude (eg not clearing brush), that's fair.

However, the beginning of this thread was riddled with posts about DEI and blaming Bass (whom has nearly zero control over this), and that's what most of us are pushing back on.

FYI - Bass is the mayor of the city of Los Angeles, and much of the burn area is outside city jurisdiction, and governed by the county.

What absolutely pisses me off so bad about tweets like that is that this idiot makes a direct statement of fact with zero evidence, doesn't explain it at all, just moves on. And the low IQ mouth breathers eat it up and start spreading it like.

We live in a holographic VR comic strip. And stupidity is taking it’s revenge now.

It feels like there is going to be major long term damage to Southern California from these fires. Insurance premiums are going to be unimaginable going forward.

Hopefully. I would have thought by now they would have learned that putting homes in the midst of flammable shrubs might be a problem.

Too many people living in an unsustainable area.

That's like a lot of posters here...

I've started calling 'em on it, if it's important.

Some idiot said we gave Israel 50B+ last year, then when questioned, posted a link to an article that directly disproved what he had posted.

I remember the very first thing I thought when I got to California for the first time was “holy shite this place is dry”. You can practically see dust suspended in the air.

L.A. fire victims are about to get a taste of the ineptness of FEMA after a disaster.
