It certainly affects my willingness to attend an event or go out in public. Call me cautious or even a pussy but I believe that everywhere I go there is at least one person who would kill me if they could without repercussion. It is kind of hard to enjoy going out these days because my head is always on a swivel.

This. I've had several family members killed by terrorism. Just last month my great uncle died of a terrorist orchestrated heart dysthymia. I don't even know how they hacked his heart but those frickin brown skins did it

This little gem made me laugh.

Its not irrational to be aware of situations with a plan of action in your mind.

As the Superbowl comes before us, do any of you often have (typically irrational) fears of an attack happening? I know security will be extremely tight and alert, but this day and age, I often worry about an attack happening. It doesn't matter if it's the Superbowl., World Cup, Olympics, The Oscar's, etc...it just always lingers in the back of my head. I guess it's the day in age we all live in

You're more likely to be struck by lightning twice than be a victim of a terrorist attack in the US.

I go to large events less because I'm the guy who would kill some of the idiots in the crowd if I could get away with it.

To me as an individual, I'm not afraid of being a victim of terrorism. However, I am never surprised when a terror attack occurs. Cowardly killers can always find a weak point for a surprise attack.

Personally, more afraid of being hit by a drunk or texting driver or attacked by a TPOS sociopath who would rob me, cave my head in with a gun butt, and not miss a minute of sleep.

Me too. But I'm sure for different reasons than you.

Define irrational.

Given recent attacks, not sure any concerns would be irrational.

If you were a terrorist wouldn't you want to make the biggest splash possible?

Big event.
Big splash.

It's a miracle, ,,.....actually it's just a matter of time before a heavily attended sporting event falls victim to these degenerate cowards.

The only time I was ever really thinking about it was my first time back in Tiger Stadium after 9/11. They rescheduled the Auburn game for the end of the year and a win put is into our 1st ever SECCG, so the stadium was packed. I remember thinking, "shite, just 1 plane into the middle of the Western side of the stadium would take out around 30k pretty easy."

Soft targets are infinitely easier to hit. If you want to randomly kill a bunch of people it's much easier to go after a crowded bar after the game.

The suicide bombings at Stade de France during the France-Germany soccer match happened a little more than a year ago.

I have this terrible fear that the Oscars will not be attacked.
