I believe the speed limit increases to 65 just after Bluebonnet Blvd. People drive stupidly around there.

I agree about the jokes but her family should be at the hospital

That area has half the cars doing 60-65, while the other half do 75-80. Recipe for disaster

It increases from 60 to 65 just east of Essen.

Then to 70 just east of Siegen.

I got caught up in that parking lot. When I passed by it looked like the doors and roof were cut off.

I hate to say it but probably not. Which is a sad and disgusting reality.

Driving that stretch at 530 6am is like you're in a nascar race.

I fricking LOVE IT. I find myself getting frustrated when not in the morning race going 80-90 and barely keeping up. .

If that happened in front of you, by the time you were able to slow down to a stop safely you are way to far down the road to assist and are doing nothing but posing a danger to yourself and the rest of the traffic. It is safer for everyone if you keep going, the traffic will eventually stop and people will be able to help without endangering themselves or other motorists.

At 65 MPH you are traveling around 95 feet per second. At 70 MPH you are traveling around 102 feet per second. A football field is 300 feet long.

LINK Pretty cool link on the whole stopping distance thing. It looks like if you were going 70 you would be over a football field away when you finally came to a stop.

Hopefully the ones that were unable to stop will call LSP and give their account.

So if you saw that wreck, you wouldn’t stop because it would take 500ish feet to safely pull off?

I'm sure someone stopped. I've never seen an accident that someone hasn't stopped and I've stopped at my fair share.

Don't speak for me. God damn right I'd pull over and stop and go back. I don't care how far back my stopping distance would be. This is a human life.

It's a serious accident. You can pull over past the accident. Traffic isn't going to be whizzing by anymore.
