That is not where they left her. It was in Pelican Lakes down highland. She went out onto highland on her own and was hit by an uber driver. Not one she called. He was innocent. He’s the one who stopped and called 911.
burbank. not highland. be more correct when trying to post correct. and uber driving is innocent of what exactly?

People are acting like the burden of proof is just a preponderance of evidence like in a civil trial. The fact the state has to clear the "beyond a reasonable doubt" bar is the problem. The facts that she pursued them to get in their car and shaming the one defendant for not joining in may be the deal breaker for the prosecution.

Burbank. Yep. Not highland. Right on the other side of staring. Always get that area confused.
Of course the uber driver is innocent. He broke no laws. You suggesting he is guilty of something?

A pretty young white girl died so someone has to pay even if it’s just a made up crime if you ask Chad

They could've taken her to the police precinct or a convenience store. But those are things honorable people do. Why couldn't they have done them?
Because in that case they're basically turning themselves in for underage drinking and DUI

There's a bunch of wannabe SFP's in this thread now. And that's not a good thing

When people have to ask what would happen had she gotten home safely, and she woke up with nothing but a hangover, they seem to be sure that she would tell all her friends that she was raped. The same friends who had no issue leaving her with these random guys she just met.

Also the same friends that picked her up at another guys house that very morning and traded sex stories with.

You think underage drinkers would drive a drunk girl to a police precinct?

It is interesting that people are assumed to be capable of making decisions and be responsible for their actions when they drive drunk but not when they have sex drunk.
exactly my point

So your argument is that Brooks is responsible for being in that situation
yes

and possibly even being the aggressor
That I don't know.

if not a willing participant
From what I read, that seems to be accurate.

No, I've been amused at people speaking authoritatively about what happened only to be wrong time and time again

From the defense, and something that hasn’t been disputed, is that once they couldn’t figure out where she wanted to go, she got pissed and asked to be let out. They let her out in a neighborhood. Had they held her against her will, would they be facing kidnapping charges as well?
Damn, bitch was walking around leaking

I think we know why.
Because they were driving drunk?
I wouldnt call the cops on myself either.

Pretty much how I read it as well.
Girl was ugly, fat, or a different color this is a non story.

Do we know why they didn't call 911? Take her to the police precinct? Call an Uber?
Probably b/c they didn't care. There is nothing illegal about being an a-hole.

Says who? It was a driver (Carver), not "they." I haven't seen anything suggesting he was drunk.

Everything
However, I think Brooks' dad is bringing a civil suit against Uber.

Sure, if it was three whites accused of raping a black girl who subsequently was killed, it would be different alright.

He doesn’t come across looking good either with that move. There were questions about how involved he still was in her life and now he’s looking to cash in on her death.
