Chinese manufacturing can be excellent and precise, or it can be low-tolerance and cheaply produced.
Companies get what they pay for, as do end-users.

The incentives for CEOs is to maximize profit for stock prices. I think the stock market is 100% behind this.

Destroy the half that survives by hiring cheap illegal labor?
Doesn't seem that bad.

The problem with Made in the USA is that everyone has principles until their own pocketbook is involved.
With WalMart specifically, they require vendors to manufacture overseas if there is any margin for reductions in price. Or they replace you with another vendor.
This happens with US companies who want to do business with WalMart post Sam Walton era.

My wife worked at a production plant for Wilson Sporting Goods. They employed 1,005 workers then all of a sudden moved the entire operation to China...I've played Wilson Staff golf irons for over the past 40 years...Got a new set last summer and on the hosel of each iron it is stamped....Made in China... Assembled in China.

Yeah, union got all of them UPS workers raises only to get many fired a year later. Sorry if you are on the factor line you should not be making 50 or more an hour. Unions are why many American jobs are now overseas.

Fast food jobs are more skilled than a lot of these line jobs making 50 an hour

Mad people are in unions? Rather terrible conditions, low wages, not healthcare? Why do you hate the American worker?

What I’m saying is that if there are 100,000 lawns in Baton Rouge being maintained by landscape companies there would only be maybe 50,000 after getting rid of the cheap labor and letting the labor rates float up to where Americans would do the job. There is no bad news there for the American laborer, but there would be a lot of customers who would suffer dead weight loss due to not being able to afford lawn care anymore. A lot of lawn care companies would also suffer dead weight loss. GDP would be reduced and tax revenue would go down.
The above is not an argument against doing it. It’s just a recognition of the very real costs that will accompany the good that is being achieved.

Again, they can staff it. It’ll just cost so much no one will buy the gloves.
