This is the nutty Flat Earth guy in California who built a steam-powered rocket. His attempt back in February didn't work because he couldn't get permission to launch on public lands.
Well, he did it today and here is the video. It is NSFW.
The launch is right after 26:30 but the guys providing the commentary are about as screwball as Mad Mike himself. Start at the beginning if you want to see them, and you should. They're both clearly high on something.
Not sorry if germans, I didn't bother to search.

What does firing yourself off in a homemade rocket have to do with flat earth conspiracies

It proves the earth is flat. If it was a sphere you'd just roll to the bottom, duh.

Why not just hop in a plane? He didn't near the altitude a plan reaches.

I’ve seen higher rocket launches in the quad.

Baw looks like Arthur Shelby from Peaky Blinders.

So where are the videos from his launch at the peak of flight and then the descent

That was surprisingly fast acceleration

He landed HARD.
Before that second shute opened I was doing some math in my head and he was gonna die. No way around it
Second shoot cut velocity insanely well.
I'd love to know who engineered that.

He didn't go far and he took a beatinf on the way down, lol. Could have gone higher with an air balloon

I've seen high launches with a bottle-rocket.

Can’t believe this a-hole lived. Well I guess that proved...nothing.

As a kid I am pretty sure I flew kites higher than that using multiple spools of fishing line.
Don't want to go too high... or the earth may appear round

I feel like the rocket I made in 6th grade science class went higher than his rocket.
