Saw this thread so I decided to change channels and see this parade for myself. What I saw was appalling, pretty much a full-on Mexican satanic ritual. There were men with masks, robes and horns on sort of chanting atonally in Spanish. At least, I hope it was Spanish. Didn't stick around long enough to determine for sure. It could have been some even more foreign Central American virgin-sacrificing gutter tongue.

It’s difficult having to explain the ‘augmented reality’ ‘balloons’ in the parade to a six year old. The Coney Island ‘mermaid’ was def in the uncanny valley cringe zone.
