Machine says co2 is our atmosphere is on the rise. Not breaking news I know.

My son at Southern Miss says they have a Licor machine for measuring photo synthesis in plants. As part of the process it starts with the co2 in the atmosphere at that moment. In 2010 the baseline was 400ppm, now it’s 420ppm. That seems like a pretty significant increase to me.

Probably not. They do some serious averaging and rounding to come up with the global average of CO2.
If you go from inside to outside, or vice versa depending on the amount of vegetation in your yard or the amount of traffic on your street, it’ll fluctuate by hundreds of points.

This is a machine doing a simple measurement. It’s not complicated. Doesn’t require tons of rigorous testing, but you brainiacs can’t take it for what it’s worth.

Go to about 19:10 to watch Will Happer show his CO2 meter while talking at a conference. He said it went from about 400 ppm outside to 580 ppm inside while speaking for 20 minutes. He also said he took a reading when he was lunch and saw that it was over 1000 ppm.
