How hard is it to fire from the shoulder?

To fire, or fire accurately?

Now here’s a thread that will be monitored.

Not hard but your not hitting shite, just need a wide stance and lean forward. It’s a .308 round so nothing insane.

I'm watching a Viet Nam program on AHC, and I see this baw with an M60 firing from the shoulder. Whether he was hitting anything. I know not.

Rambo can do it

WTF?

It is an area denial weapon though
.
It's not the 7.62 that is the problem, it's how much it weighs and how much of that weight is close to 40 inches from your shoulder. Go pick up a 12 pack of Bud Light and hold it straight out in front of you for as long as you can. Now add recoil.

With the stock against the shoulder standing up with just your body to support it? Damn near impossible with any effectiveness. It can be done but you have to be a stout MFer and even then you won't be holding it on target long.

It can't be easy.
Here is Brandon Herrera with his Rhodesian FAL and he says it is on the edge and it is a much easier handling rifle.
Brandon H. demonstrates a genuine Rhodesian FAL YT
