This is pretty cool

quote:

REAL-TIME RESULTS!

On May 12, a homeowner was out of town when their security cameras alerted them that someone was trying to get inside their Las Vegas home near Desert Inn and Arville.

They called Metro.

An LVMPD drone launched from a SkyPort and was overhead in seconds, locating the suspect outside the residence. Working together, the drone pilot and dispatcher quickly guided responding officers to the location, leading to an arrest.

When every second counts, eyes in the sky can make all the difference.

We have flown more than 12,000 drone flights so far in 2026. Today, our drones are arriving on scene before officers more than 70% of the time. That means faster response, better situational awareness, better information for our officers, and ultimately safer outcomes for our community.

It would lead to crowded airspace if they did this in NOLA or North BR.

Looks like Las Vegas is serious about law enforcement. Maybe one day Baton Rouge and NOLA will come around.

If you are dumb enough to be a criminal with all the drone and video surveillance these days I have zero sympathy for you. Lock them up forever or put them all on an island.

This is becoming commonplace. My city uses drones as first responders as well. It's going to be a very different world in just a few years with all the technology changes.

4cubbies, red stick tigress, and Byron Bojangles are saying this program is negatively affecting minorities and must be studied.

I've seen this movie it's called Runaway and stars Tom Selleck, Gene Simmons and Kirstie Alley.

Great flick and predicted all of this in 1984.
