Because there is discussing something on the Politics board and then there is discussing something on the OT.
Believe it or not, but OT posters can actually have their own thoughts. It's obvious what the majority of the politics board will say and the few who don't just repeat what they hear from radio shows, podcast... They pretty much get stoned for having a different opinion.

Containment boards never work.

The Movie/TV board was free from political talk until one of the Star Wars movies triggered people into posting there. This board is on the same timeline as social media, because that's basically all it is.
