My grandma is one of them (Scicilian to be exact). My grandparents have been there their entire lives (91 and 89). Celebrating 70 years of marriage this June.

And yes, lots of Sicilians migrated to that area. Paisan is a friendly Italian greeting meaning brother or fellow countrymen.
