Grits!
Spring is busy, mini AS is gearing up for rec season but hitting the age where a lot of his buddies and ones he has played on all-stars with are moving to travel teams. Now comes the decisions on what all he wants to do.
We gonna do flag, soccer, rec, biddy ball, and lacrosse. Or are we gonna pick one or two we can focus on more as the seasons currently overlap not counting moving to a travel or club team in any of the sports.
Playing catch, doing ball skill drills, playing horse, working on cradling, hitting the cages, catching some sun perch...a lot into a little time.
How's your spring?

Me and a guy of similar vintage have taken on replacing part of the hound perimeter fence. 50 years ago we would have finished the whole dang fence by now. Between the two of us we got the the gate framed in about 2 to 3 hours. Needless to say the doggie door is down for now and the hounds are sleeping underfoot till they can go out again without me.
What happened to the supply of young men and outdoor work skills?

No lacrosse article is complete without at least a causal mention of Jim Brown.

Jim Brown was an absolute stud at Syracuse for Lacrosse. There just wasn't any money in it compared to the NFL.

I reckon we would had fun being defense in Lacrosse. "The next unsuspecting baw coming up the field, carrying the ball in his little stick-net, is getting mugged, and limping home."

Only player to be in the NCAAF, NFL, and US Lacrosse Hall of Fames. His Senior year at Cuse he scored 43 goals and had 21 assists in 10 games, where Cuse went 10-0 and won the championship.
He also scored 5 goals in the first half of the All-American game.

I seriously considered the club but went cheeseburger. We shared homemade o rings and homemade lemon pie.
Poor Winnie must hate home cooking.

I went to his house when he was still alive... hitched a ride with his hired security that I was friends with. Didn't get to see him though.
