A TD struggle session should be fun.
I'm watching way too much soccer. Ronaldo just scored again.
No lunch yet

I'm old as f*ck and don't remember what I'm doing.
My lunch is a salad.
Word around the campfire is that an issue as to my whereabouts has been raised. I looked at my last post from April 23 and kind of chuckled. It was the Ed Norton shutting the laptop gif. That was not meant to be a good bye.
I have been very busy working on a case that is set for trial next month. In my 22 years of doing insurance defense work I defended cases that were tried or settled for millions of dollars. Since being involved in a general practice beginning in 2004, the biggest plaintiff’s case I ever resolved was for 750K. That was a personal injury case. The case presently set for trial in July is a business case and it is very complicated. I am in a small office and have done all of the legal, paralegal, and sometimes secretarial work. I am up against a couple of very good lawyers with an ample support staff.
Anyway, after much work, preparation for depositions, and two mediations, the case settled last week. It was the first time in my now 48+ year career that I ever said "No thank you" to an offer of 1 million dollars. We got more. The parties are still working out the wording of the settlement agreement, but we are very close. So, I have more free time and will be on the OT much more.
On the health front, I am doing very well. I have taken my name off the liver transplant list because I’m going to be 75 in September - at my age I do not want to go through the procedure and if there was a liver available it should go to someone much younger. When my time’s up, it’s up. No chemo or anything for me – just give me a handle of Dewar’s White Label (haven’t had a drink in 30 years) and a carton of Marlboro Reds and a carton of Camel non filters (haven’t smoked a cigarette in 10 years). As I tell my estate clients and as they say in the old gangster movies, “Nobody gets out alive”! My doctor told me that even if a liver were available, I am too well to get it. That sounds fine to me. I think I’ll die of something else anyway. My hope is that I’ll be shot in the back on my 90th birthday by an angry father of a 19 year old woman who invited me to her bedroom one night.
Mrs. Iona is also well. In May of 2024 she was given 2 – 5 years to survive her Stage IV ovarian cancer. She’s beaten the low number now I’m going to do my best to help her beat the high number. We are going to see an oncology interventional radiologist on Friday. A couple of lymph nodes have grown and we will discuss stereotactic body radiation (it’s a cyber knife procedure) to zap these things.
I appreciate the fact that there are people I have never met on this board who are concerned about other posters, including me. I thank you. I have so very much for which to be grateful.
Tl;dr: I am ok, Mrs. Iona is OK, been very busy at work, settled a case for more than 1 million dollars.

Glad you're well and your wife is doing well too.
Best wishes for your big case!

Ha! You beat me to it. I was about to give a shout out to the OT for you. It was good to hear from you and know things are going well! Keep it up!

Good afternoon, all.
Hot chimkin, ham, mushroom, onion and cheese sammy on bread I made.
Glad to hear everything is rolling along smoother than hoped for, Dr. Iona.
75 is not that old. The Cheesy Gritster said you still smell like puppy breath.
