Deanies and GW Finns are the only 2 legit tourist traps I can think of right off the top of my head

Didn’t SEE any no parking signs or parking meters.

You will probably get a parking ticket. Just consider it expensive pay parking.

New Orleans may not be safe but if you are from Mobile, it is just a bigger version of your home town as far as crime, ghetto activity, etc.

You aight in the daylight down that way.

Was not a ticket on the truck when we got back. Museum was a sobering experience for sure.

As to the locals. Hipsters and democrats were well represented. I’m from Selma, not NYC. I have a pretty good idea who was who.

I suggest , in general, listen to peeps who live in Nola, especially when it comes to food.

NOLA peeps are the worst. They are great at telling you how awful a restaurant is, but they never make good recommendations because they know their picks will get trashed also. This thread is a good example, only one recommendation I saw.

Actually I don't think Mother's is that bad. I find myself in that neighborhood pretty often and eat lunch there on occasion.

When we still lived in NOLA - the company my husband worked for brought them to lunch there quite often

It’s ok - but not necessarily something I’d wait in line for or recommend

I think hotel concierges have promoted it over the years

I’ve heard multiple front desks recommend it to tourists

Been to mother’s one time. 10am-ish. Standing in line.

Hear glass get smashed, engine scream, tires squeal, and a tahoe missing a window flew out of the parking lot and off down the street.

First of all, there is a board for that where you’ll get many great recs.

Second he didn’t ask for recs. He just went to a shitty tourist trap.

Are they still? I thought Landrieu changed that in 2015.

Also, I like Mother's. I could go for a Ferdie right now.
