Lunch Break. What ppl on my team do vs what I and other coworkers do

What about you?
Option 1: People on my team: Spend the hour in the break area on our floor talking about soap operas, rumors around the company, weekend plans and other gossip. (This includes the women, an effeminate sassy black guy(the Office suck up/stab you in the back type), and a couple of guys in their early 50s.
Option 2: What I and other employees do: Leave the office and either go somewhere to eat, hit up the gym or run home. I'm 30 and the others who do this are around my age
Why would you ever choose option 1? Complete waste of time in my opinion

Option 4:eat my lunch during regular work time. During lunch go to my car and take a nap, or run errands.

This^ I feel like using that hour to get out and revamp your batteries is better than gossiping for an hour.

I bring my lunch most days. I try to eat at like 1:30 so noones in the break room therefore I don't have to talk to them or listen to bachelor talk if there is a group in there. I also take like 20 to 30 minutes so I can get back to work. I work well over 40 hours a week so I get to work at like 7:20 and take a short lunch so I'm not there all night.

Clearly they prefer to stay.
Neither one is wrong except you for feeling your way is the right way.

I never said one was wrong and one was right. Just in my opinion one is better use of your time.

I like your style, but no bueno for me. Too many people in my parking lot walking around, I wouldn't be able to relax for the nap. I like being able to pop us and say "come in", and act like I was working when someone knocks on the door.

I take a giant shite on the HR floor like I am now. I go to the HR floor because there won’t be any other men entering and exiting while I enjoy my peace and quiet on the throne.
