LSU to build a new Construction & Advanced Manufacturing Building

Already recognized as one of the top construction management programs in the U.S., LSU’s Bert S. Turner Department of Construction Management is on the verge of becoming a world-class leader in the field. The new building will enable LSU to accomplish that goal, providing additional lab and faculty space and increased capacity for advanced manufacturing and machining.
LSU’s construction management program is vital to Louisiana, where the construction industry is projected to grow 14.3% by 2030, and to the Gulf Coast, which has a construction backlog estimated between $60-80 billion. Nearly 70% of LSU construction management graduates remain in-state after graduation, and 75% of spring 2024 graduates are now working in the commercial or industrial sectors of the industry.
The Construction & Advanced Manufacturing Building will be located on South Stadium Drive, across the street from Tiger Stadium. It will be the home of construction management, which will relocate from Patrick F. Taylor Hall, and will offer new and enhanced labs for research that will address challenges in construction. The new building will also free up space in existing facilities to accommodate projected growth in allied engineering departments. From 2021-23, the construction industry was the top employer of LSU mechanical and electrical undergraduate engineers among those who participated in a post-graduation employment survey.

I worked at LSU’s Center for the Advancement of Microstructures and Devices through undergrad and grad school. Not on campus though. It was supposed to be a business hub but those projections never came true.

Isn't that going to take up some parking? I mean, I am sure its going to be nice. The engineering building is nice. So the building formally known as CEBA will be for business school or has that changed?
This makes me think of this. Whats the furthest you had back to back classes? I remember I schedule this not even thinking about it, but i had a class in CEBA then right after that class I had a music elective in the music building. After the first day I had to make adjustments and several semesters it seemed like I had a class in CEBA then right after, a class in Lockett and that wasn't as bad, but it wasn't ideal

CEBA is now called Patrick F Taylor Hall and was renovated a few years ago. PFT currently houses the construction management program but that'll change once this new building is constructed.
The business school is in its own building that was built around 2010. It's to the east of PFT.

I dont think it can be stated enough. What this man is doing at LSU is impressive for the state. Hopefully he can continue on this path for LSU.

Construction management at LSU is an elite program and cranks out tons of high paying jobs. This isn't the DEI complex.
you're not wrong about many universities struggling, but you're wrong about LSU investing in an excellent major.
edit: LSU also has record application numbers. We will be one of the last universities to shut down

Probably for the best. Was always a weird mix of engineers and construction bros in PFT.
I’ll never forget the look the guys in my estimating class gave me when I said I just took a Calculus 3 exam. I don’t think they even knew that Calculus went up that high
