He probably took a private vehicle rather than spend a couple thousand to ride in an ambulance.

Place Du Plantier was once quite safe. Now, this speaks volumes for just how badly BR has become as far as safety.

And it's still safe, stop pretending like shite like this happens regularly on Lee. Go start your BR crime circle jerk somewhere else

Thats exactly why I carry 15 rounds of F you everywhere I go.

Also this

quote:

Never. Ever. Do this.

Leave immediately, get far away, call 911.

In the worst case scenario, you better have a gun, have it drawn, and know how to shoot it.

Once you pull a gun, you aim to kill. This isn't the movies. You don't negotiate. You shoot center mass to kill before they have time to kill you.

This is a shitty story, but at least the kids alive. And may the frick that shot him rot in hell.

That seems very fortunate, circumstances considered.

This whole story seems fishy to me. I feel like the shooter was there for a reason. Out of all the apartments in that complex, he choose this guys place. Also, the fact that he fought back makes me think the guy had a reason to try to stop him. I don't want to speculate as i could be wayyyy wrong. But, i feel like this guy had something that the shooter knew about.

Anyone else get this vibe from the story?

I know of a similar situation that happened around LSU a few years back. Ended up, one of the roommates was moving some product and a buyer found out he had a large sum of money and ended up robbing him while the other roommates were home.

my legendary Gardere story

I knew a guy who went to grad school in the mid-1990's. He was from Phoenix and rented an apartment on Gardere based on a few pictures on the Internet. He pulled up in his U-Haul, slowed down, saw what was going on in the hood, and kept driving to a hotel.

In the early 1980's, Gardere/GSRI was new and nice except for the smell from the treatment plant.

Place Du Plantier and those spiral staircases.

I used to live there. Those staircases are terrible. Also, my electricity bill was almost as much as the rent. They have the energy efficiency of a colander.

I see some of the br posters have adapted the nola poster strategy of playing off crime.

I have a buddy at work that knows the guy that got shot, he said he would not be shocked if it was drug related.
