LSU should have chose the bluffs in NBR
Posted by Michael Hayes on 6/5/19 at 12:55 pm913
to build their university instead of it's present location when it was founded. Geographically better.
Also, NBR would probably be in SBR.

What if LSU stayed in the vicinity of their original Campus located in Pineville?
What would CENLA be like today?

It would suck. Louisiana sucks from Pineville on up.

Should have stayed where it originally was (meaning where it originally was in BR) next to Downtown BR around the Pentagon Barracks and current state capitol area, with the new State Capitol going somewhere near the old one, like where the Centroplex is now.
Both BR and LSU would have been so much better for that sort of proximity between downtown and the school. The refinery and plants should have been built south of the city.
Oh well.

Mistakes were made, and as a result NBR is like Rwanda. But I'd bet South BR would have suffered greatly if LSU wasn't where it is. It's not like a different location for it would remove the problematic demographic from BR; it would've just shifted to other areas.

should just move the entire university to houston

The proximity between the campus and the downtown would have likely prevented a lot of the wholesale fleeing of the productive populace so far away from downtown, though, and made it a much more vibrant desirable area into this century without the horrible decline it saw.

Postgame traffic would not be OOC.

1886 LSU moved to BR and was located South of the capital grounds
1909 ESSO refinery opened where it is now
Both locations were on natural high ground
1926 LSU moved to its present location partially on a natural levee and partially in the Miss. River flood plain
1932 the Capital moved to its present location on high ground
