The student had to submit proof of vaccination by aug 22 - or results of a negative test (and will have to do that monthly)
The student is not allowed on campus without that - how they actually know - I don’t know

College Admissions prior to 2010: “We’re going to need you to submit your high school transcript, ACT/SAT score, and any letters of recommendations you may have”
College Admissions in 2021: “We’re going to need you to submit your Vaccine passport, your social media accounts, voter ID proving you’re a registered Democrat, your non white DNA tested family tree, and a letter of recommendation from a POC/LBTQXYZ+ proving you aren’t a racist and fight against homophobia, transphobia, and racism”

I recall having to submit my immunization record to enroll at LSU in the early 80s.

I had to show proof of immunization when I enrolled at Bama in 1991. We had to show it for both of my kids when they started kindergarten as well, and again before they could sign up for middle and high school sports.

Colleges actually went away from requiring proof of vaccination in the 2010s decade because it was racist to require illegals to get vaccinated. That's why there have been a bunch of 3rd world disease outbreaks on college campuses late in the last decade.
Apparently their Covid fears are stronger than their love for illegals so proof of vaccination is back.

going to put administration and supporters of mandates in quite the predicament when they realize illegals and POC’s have extremely low vaccination rates.

You could’ve opted out due to religious or personal reasons - as per state law.
