Live in BR area and my daughter goes to a college in a county where there is less than 10% of this cultcha. Imagine being able to drop off your child at college and not having to stress to them how dangerous and crime ridden your entire surroundings are.

Tate went nuclear with it. He actually set record highs for freshmen class totals and still found a way to reduce whites in total numbers & in % from the freshman class and total undergraduate numbers before his arrival to the freshman class and the total undergraduate numbers in the fall of 2025.

He did this with focused recruitment and focused scholarships & grants. Pell grants increased by $22 million by 2023-2024 which is the last figures reported in common data set, LSU controlled need based scholarships increased by $23 million by same year, state need based grants increased by over $7 million by same year, and external sourced need based scholarships/grants increased by $2.5 million by same year. Thats before any non-need based scholarships or grants that were also rewarded holistically and without requiring ACT/SATs.

He paid them what Pell grant did not cover to be here. That’s why they stay after first year at a similar rate as other students stay now. These scholarship & grant levels have likely increased by similar amounts since 2023-24 year after his 2 biggest freshman classes that also had whites and ACT submissions dropping below 50% - fall of 2024 and fall of 2025.

Tate oversaw an over 14 percentage point drop in the % of white undergraduates on campus - 67.1% in fall of 2020 to 52.8% this fall. If he had stayed whites would have quite possibly become a plurality of undergraduates by this fall with Tate pushing another record class total along with his continued shrinking # and % of whites in that class. If not this fall it he definitely would have made his goal by next fall. New guys couldn’t do much with late start after offers made already, but they found a way to at least shrink this fall’s freshman class which put whites back above 50% of this fall’s freshman class.

My grandparents, parents, siblings, wife, and myself all went to LSU. Unless the place does a 180 in the next 20 years, my kids will not be going there.

I absolutely loved my time there, but walking the campus now is shocking.

I thought I had to go all the way to France to get tear gassed.
