Won't the Unity Field group just find another spot to tailgate or is anyone really thinking that this will discourage them from attending?

This plus what about the mob that took over Highland in front of The Chimes?

LSU putting out this statement is inviting more chaos. They probably should have done it quietly and increase the police presence.

This is the way… they need to have a readily available holding cell that can hold a bunch of people. Bring them in.. process the ticket and release after a few hours with a trespass notification for one day..

Exactly.

I get what you're saying but it is a public university funded by tax dollars.

What’s your point? Can I set up a tent on the parade grounds and live there?

He also said a specific student organization, which he declined to name, was responsible for drawing large crowds in the area.

What a pussy, strike Lee out from permanent Chancellor consideration.

How much of Highland road are we talking about? If Highland will be closed from gate to gate, traffic is going to get much worse, much earlier.

It’ll be even worse if they close it in the middle of campus where there’s nowhere to really redirect the flow. So I think it’s gonna make pregame traffic in the area much worse no matter what.

And just wait until one has a legal med mari card and still gets arrested. I'll believe this when I see it. This is probably more of a deterrent than anything.

Card doesn’t let you smoke in public, especially on campus. Also says they’d be “detained”.

This resistance is exactly what we need. These people go path of least resistance, they’ll move along if we actually do this and continue to do this.

While they're at it get rid of the electric scooters and wheelie riders busting arse through game day crowds.

Doesn’t mean it’s allowed on campus
You can’t legally smoke weed anywhere in public even with a medical card

I was leaving the game mid second quarter. Now I'm gonna have to leave after the national anthem.

I see it as a pregame issue. I'd imagine (hope) they'd open it back up post-game after the tailgate only crowds have mostly left.

That's what I mean by "gate to gate", i.e., Highland through the entirety of campus.

My money is on the Law Center steps, the lawn in front of Pleasant Hall, and the Parade Grounds. Closest spot to the vape shops.

What/where is Unity Field?
Watching the press conference, when they said Unity Field would be closed off, I immediately knew what that meant, even though I've never heard of it before.

Across the street from Dalrymple to Prescott Hall and the Indian Mound area is pretty civil however.

You know what would really kill the disorderly conduct easily?

11:30 and 2:30 game times.

I wonder why a bunch of these people all up in arms about weed being smoked on campus don't seem to care about the rampant underage drinking on the parade grounds

It is open to the public. You would think someone with a lick of common sense would know better
