I think LEOs claim is that they can’t see through windows during a traffic stop.

I can promise you that me driving around with tint on my 65k vehicle isn’t making your job any more unsafe.

Yea my biggest issue with tint is the police can have blacked out windows and it’s somehow safe but others can’t.

The reason it’s illegal to have dark tint is bc a LEO cannot see inside a vehicle to see if someone is doing something they shouldn’t be doing e.g. have a gun. Obviously that doesn’t apply to LEOs.

Does it make car windows impenetrable?

We have 5% on our vehicles but my wife has a light sensitivity so we get an exemption letter. I can't have a vehicle without it now.

Get on the PA and tell them to roll their windows down and step out of the vehicle.

I at least roll mine down if I get pulled over.

Everything that makes a pig feel a little scared is illegal. Here’s an idea, pigs, ask people to roll their windows down before you approach. Novel idea.

Not being able to see a driver does make it a bit harder to determine their intent at a 4 way stop or some other intersection, esp as everyone knows and obeys traffic laws...

I know when i ride in a friend's car with heavy tint, it makes night driving a bit more interesting...

What right do they have to be able to see inside any of my property? Can I not keep curtains closed at my house/apartment?

I guess if they can’t see what’s in or isn’t in a vehicle, they’re more hesitant to try. Most of the time they likely see the prize and smash and grab

Hell, I could be sitting inside mine at night with a gun on my lap and they (criminal) wouldn't have a clue.

This is Louisiana. You should assume every car has a gun.

upper tier tint also has more reflective properties that help reduce the inside temperature of the vehicle when it bakes in the summer sun.

If you get good ceramic tint you get that same heat benefit at 40%
