Whole wheat products, sweet potato instead of white, no corn, increased protein. I try to keep a low carb diet because of hypoglycemia. I avoid sugars, unless i'm home and will be able to eat again in about 2 hours. The blood sugar drop happens fast and without warning. Most vegetables are considered free foods (corn is not since it breaks down to high sugars).
Curious, what is your ave net daily carb intake doing that? I am almost always under 50 (usually 25-30), and I think the bread and sweet potatoes would rocket me through 100 pretty quickly.

In the beginning I found it difficult, but it's really easy now.
Back when I started a Keto diet, I found it easiest to keep it simple. Eggs all different ways(omelets, fried, scrambled, boiled etc), bacon, sausage, ground meat with different seasonings for different flavors, steak, roasts, chicken, pork chops, seafood etc
The veggies lowest in carbs are cauliflower, broccoli and spinach. Cauliflower is amazingly versatile. Mash it up with sour cream, bacon bits, and chives and it's fricking delicious. Roasted with garlic is great too. Creamed spinach, cheesy broccoli etc.
All types of cheeses, almonds, pecans, pork rinds etc. When you're doing low carb you don't need to worry about fat, so even though you may feel like you're depriving yourself, that feeling will go away fast as you realize you can enjoy real butter, heavy cream, whipped cream in the can, full fat cream cheese etc.
For bread substitute I use low carb tortillas or Joseph's lavash bread(Costco).
Places to eat while out are Chipotle(just don't get beans or rice and have a bowl not a burrito), Ghengis Grill(don't use the sauces). Wendy's will do bunless burgers(as will all fast food burger places). I usually get a baconator no bun no ketchup and a Caeser side salad. Caeser dressing has 1 carb.
Popeyes has blackened chicken and green beans.
Sushi is good as long as no rice and fake krab has a shite ton of carbs.
I drink plain water with mio liquid flavoring, iced tea, coffee, and diet soft drinks about once a week.
I even have Breyers carb smart ice cream occasionally.

There is a company that makes sodas with stevia as a sweetener. The ginger ale one makes a decent mixer but it won't taste good by itself until you have been off sweets for quite a while. Even then it's average so I just use as a mixer. Pork rinds (plain/ no bbq or other flavor added) make good low carb snacks.

I find the amount of downvotes on replies to this thread odd. Some of you baws must take your low carbs and sugar seriously.

Lower than a variety of leafy greens? I actually classify cauli and brocc as medium carb and attempt to somewhat limit intake.

5 guys in a bowl is my "cheat" meal even though it's not cheating at all

Water. Lots of water. Sometimes I'll pick up those Cascade carbonated flavored water drinks, but I typically only drink about one a week. I also drink the premier protein drinks. They only have about 6 grams of carbs and only one from sugar.
Sometimes, if I'm trying to put weight on, I'll drink heavy whipping cream.

Alright, so it seems like Sat. fats aren't actually the devil. But so many doctors still stand by a low saturated fat diet. Why is that?
Also, I love eggs. But apparently you aren't supposed to go over 300 mil. of cholesterol a day. Then you read that that isn't true either.
Any insight on saturated fats and cholesterol?

Sometimes you have to change your eating habits when you get older to avoid being fat. Metabolism slows down. Some people just don't want to be a fat unhealthy frick. Eating healthy is not eating like shite by the way. And every once in a while you can splurge on sweets and carb filled eats.
