Besides a whiskey, I think we will require a little respect. . . . If you care to turn around, you will see what we looked like when we was younger and the people around here wanted to make us senators. What we didn’t put up with back then was doddlin’ service, and as you can see, we still don’t put up with it. — Captain Augustus McCrae

Fun fact: Loving County is named after Oliver Loving, whom the Robert Duvall character in Lonesome Dove is based on.

New Mexico/western Texas is the most boring stretch of highways in this country. I cringe anytime I've gotta go to El Paso to pick up the cheap Messican crap coming across the border there, always have to have a couple of five hour energy's handy in case of emergency.

I've thought on it and can't come up with a number that's like 15. It's a pretty unique number.

Passed by it on US54 many times. Company I work for gets Werner Ladders out of El Paso and that's our route back north to get to I40 or I70.

It is gorgeous! I love how when you get to the top you can look out and see the desert floor below while you stand among giant fir trees and snowcaps.

Largest county in Texas:
Brewster County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is in West Texas and its county seat is Alpine. It is one of the nine counties that comprise the Trans-Pecos region, and borders Mexico.
Area: 6,192 mi²
Founded: 1887
Population: 9,231 (2019)
Also, Big Bend National Park is in the county as is Big Bend Ranch State Park. There is not one red, yellow green traffic lights in the county. Only blinking red and yellow.

Sounds pretty good to me, especially considering it's a red county. Means you wouldn't have to live around hardly any trashy left wingers. Sign me up

I hear what you are saying, but I’ve spent a little time out there, and it can grow on you.
Wide open spaces… big sky… extreme isolation can feel pretty cool.
