That pitbull "nip" will kill his daughter. So naive.

My parents have a pitbull they found after BR flooded. It seems chill. Just watches TV all day and barks when that Gwen Stefani commercial is played. So I guess if Gwen ever visits my parents there might be an issue.

Sheriffs seek pit bull they say attacked woman, dogs in Sullivan

quote:

One of the woman’s dogs was killed. According to the sheriff’s office, the attack happened about 1:30 p.m. Sunday on Melody Lake Drive, near the border between the towns of Thompson and Forestburgh. The sheriff’s office said a woman was walking her three dogs when the pit bull approached and attacked the woman and two of her dogs. One of the dogs was fatally injured in the attack.

And no reason to jump to extremes with your argument. It's a poor method.
You mean like everyone on the OT who dislikes pits?

Actually, they're great guard dogs.

According to the OT, they'll automatically kill anyone who enters the home. Even the owners.

Name a guard dog that can do better.
Valid point.

This reminds me of the loving relationship that a man named Roy had with his pets. Sure, many people considered Roy to be crazy for trusting his loving pets so much. They pointed to the possibility of danger, yada, yada, yada. Royu knew better. He loved them and cared for them and they returned his love and affection. They were family members!

Then October 3, 2003 happened. Roy Horn, of Siegfried & Roy, was mauled by his a pet tiger. He never suspected it. He was a world premier trainer and handler of lions and tigers. They were his career, his life, and his love. He’s partially paralyzed, and he still devotes his time to raising wild cats.

Sounds a lot like pit bull owners to me.

I didn't in my post. I said why would you take any kind of chance with the life of your child. These dogs have proven to be dangerous.

I know only a pretty small percentage actually attack and kill, but it's still Russian roulette to me.

Everyone has cute pics of their pits doing all sorts of wonderful things. Then they snap and eat the kid's face off.

In every other domain of discourse, you'd look for prior causes in the chain of events. But since it's a pit bull, people lose their mind and, out of pure emotion, believe that otherwise good/well-trained dogs just snap and become killing machines. It's indescribably stupid.

It's the OT way.

I've been trying to pin it down and I think it has something to do with having a lot of experience in lower class areas (whether they live(d) there or work there). That, and trolls.

Good and well trained dogs DO snap sometimes. Who's to argue they don't. They don't all become killing machines.

I'm arguing they don't. There is always a root cause for behavior. Further, pit bulls are not the highest implicated breed in bites, they are just more dangerous when they do.

Please get out of this thread with logic and reasoning.

The OT says that ALL pits kill, therefore, it must be true.
