When it comes to guns connected to crimes, Louisiana supplies more to Texas than the other way around — despite a sevenfold difference in population between the Lone Star and Bayou states, federal data suggests.

And Mississippi funnels more to Louisiana than vice versa, even though it has half the people.

Statistics from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives show that 2,158 firearms seized in 2021 during criminal investigations – dubbed “crime guns” – were originally bought in Louisiana but wound up in other states. And of the 13,823 crime guns taken off the streets in Louisiana, more than 1,800 came from elsewhere.

It's likely that significantly more guns flow between states, but many are never confiscated or, if they are, are not traced, experts say.

It’s an easy side hustle. What someone does with the gun after it leaves me is on them.

Screw the Advocate and their propaganda. They do more to support the criminals than anyone.

It’s a good business. What do you think the perps that are breaking into all of the vehicles in NOLA are looking for? It’s not an Alpine CD player.

Still focusing on the inanimate object instead of the person that makes that inanimate object do bad things.

Like blaming the car instead of the drunk driver.

That article is stupid. It literally contradicts itself. If the Crime Guns were all coming into LA from a specific place OR another states Crime Guns were all coming from here then that is a story. But to say guns from here are going all over and guns from all over are coming here says nothing at all.

All the story is saying is that people buy guns and then later sell, trade or lose them and SOME of those guns eventually get used in a crime. Well no shite.

No no. Need to get rid of the guns completely. That’s where they’re going with this.
This is just a story leading up to that.

Fear-mongering never takes the day off, it seems.

The problem isn't firearms, it's the increasing proliferation of the mindset that says it's okay to use them in crimes. Firearms are just the tool, not the root cause. This is like trying to blame forks for people being fat.

Now do the border.

The Advocate is nothing more than a propaganda rag.

This newspeak is as contemptible as it is laughable.
