Baton Rouge to Monroe

From Rayville down to Natchez is a dirty stretch of small towns and speed traps. Beautiful farm land with sad lives of most residence.

Baskin = pricks.

Livonia is reasonable and fair. You have to be moving pretty much over the limit there to get nailed.

Krotz Springs was great for the four years the old wrecker man was chief, now the lady is back and they're back in the shakedown mode.

Dry Prong used to lead the nation but they've slacked up.

Creola is sneaky.

Y'all nailed the rest of them pretty good other than Woodworth and Forest Hill, mainly Woodworth.

I pass through Pearl River, PR's finest has someone pulled over (45 mph speed limit),

Color me shocked. My brother got two tickets from them over the span of a week for going 5-10 over the speed limit in both instances.

Luckily, I know their hiding spots in town.

I'm from PR and it's always been known to stick to 45mph when in the city limits.

Yep. They also like to hide on both sides of the Honey Island Swamp exit to catch speeders on I-59. If I'm coming in from Picayune, I always reduce my speed as I approach that exit.

anybody want to chip in to start a 501(c)(3) that just figures out a way to put up signs before these speed traps to warn drivers?

I looked down at my speed when I saw the Woodworth cop. He stopped me 50 foot from the new speed limit sign and added 5 mph to my speed.

Can't believe Krotz Springs is not on that list. No dam sense that the limit goes back to 55 On the bridge. Makes it harder for semi's not being able to have more momentum as they hit the bottom of the bridge, getting on.

Crotch Springs will never get a dime of my money again... piss, shite and get out of there.

There is no way Marrero is a bigger speed trap than Westwego.
Marrero is patrolled by JPSO. Westwego has their own police force, and has given a speeding ticket for 9 over. IN MY DRIVEWAY.

Geez, is that even legal to hold your DL as collateral like that? What if you legit can't pay for it until you get paid again? What if your driving to airport and need your DL?

I think this is only true for cities that were running speed traps on the interstate. State Troopers said anything under 10mph over the limit goes to the state.

How does this work for cities that allow their city police to patrol the interstate for a day or two a month? I have specifically seen West Monroe PD do this, and can't figure out how this is arranged, who gets the revenue, what happens if there is an arrest, etc

As others have said, Baskin should be close to the top of that list. I'm glad they raised the speed limit to 70 on I-12 between Juban and Range because it used to be a hotbed for DSPD who were out writing tickets every Saturday and Sunday. Don't know what they are doing now for revenue because they hardly sit on that stretch of interstate anymore.

Seems like they write tickets from the Grant Parish line to I-49.

I exaggerate, but not by much.
