Id gladly take Chinese shrimp

No way in hell! I had Chinese caught shrimp in Canton China and the next day i had the worst case of food poisoning I've ever had. People at my table who didn't eat the shrimp were just fine. We who ate it were not doing at all well.

Most Americans aren’t even aware where their shrimp come, don’t even think about it. As long as it tastes alright and they can afford it. Just like the average American Woman doesn’t know Lexus cars are Japanese.

No one loves India more than Trump. Second only to his love of Israel. Gross.

When I go to the grocery store I only buy gulf shrimp. Never that farm raised crap. Same with fish.

Every type of La commercial fisherman has complained about something annually for the last 50 years at least.

Cited 4 times and that's the fine? Worth it to them.

Where is the list of the restaurants caught doing this this past year?

Louisiana a business must post publicly that they sell imported seafood

Are we sure about that? They don't seem to follow it.

I might buy less and/or not as often, but I sure don't want to eat any damn Indian shrimp.

If the penalty is low, its probably well worth the "risk".

You do realize that a pound of domestic crawfish tails cost about 3.5X more expensive than the Chinese.

Yes I do realize it. It’s why I called those owners out on their bullshite for not knowing.

It wasn’t listed on any of the sites that had the article. I have been trying to find it. If it’s so many restaurants then it should be released.

The fact that you can get something from halfway around the globe cheaper than the same exact thing that’s literally in your own backyard seems to be the problems to me. Figure out how to fix that.

I was looking around as well. Found a few from 2025 that were compliant. The SeaD group who does DNA testing o ly list the compliant restaurants. O thought these 300+ violators were found by the state and would be listed.

Dropping the tariffs on India is not good

As I've noted several times, the South had hundreds of textile mills and related factories up until the late 1960's when the tariffs on Indian textiles and cloths were dropped. The South's textile mills vanish in what seemed like the blink of an eye.

Exactly. And standard American diet is full of processed food. If you eat gulf shrimp but chug down high fructose corn syrup, seed oils, and red 40, does it make a difference?

Of the choice of Chinese or Indian shrimp, I'll take the first.

Of course between Chinese and Gulf shrimp, I'll take Gulf every time

My baw will continue getting his $2-3 a pound and I’ll continue getting my 2-3 ice chests every year. I don’t eat shrimp from anywhere else so I doubt I’ll see a change anytime soon
