Not quite sure who would enjoy living there long-term

Sure, a few years to explore its natural resources and beauty, but I could see that getting really old really fast due to feeling isolated and its bitter cold weather.

They have Alaska ranked highly in this category, and it's false. These lists are bogus.

Nothing bogus about our #50 ranking. And we're #50 in both short AND long term fiscal matters. Solid.

Pal, Louisiana has been sitting at the bottom for decades.

Is 4 years a record? We might at least have that going for us.

Midwest is colder than coastal Alaska.

As far as isolation, I am two hours by air from Seattle 32,000 people live in this city, 70,000 in Southeast? We have a Costco, Fred Meyer, Safeway...Home Depot... More restaurants per capita than anywhere else in the country...

The dreariness is the worst of it. If you can take light rain and cloud cover 2/3rds of the year, it's a perfect place.
