He should have cared more about not being a criminal as much as he cared about his hair

Honestly, IDGAF about what anyone says or his beliefs.

If you legally lose your liberites, then all of your rights evaporate.

They have to give you food, shelter, health care. That should be IT.

You get nothing else. No vote. No hair. Shower, Eat and Sleep when we tell you.

You forfeit your freedom and your rights when you do time in prison. Not sorry. Deal with it. If you can't do the crime, then don't do the crime.

What is glaringly ommitted from the story is WHY they cut his hair. If they cut it off because "frick this guy, I don't like him." Then let's talk. But I am going to guess there was some legitimate reason and that fact makes the story less click bait. So our unbiased media chose to leave that out.

Several prisons in Louisiana shave every individual’s head the moment they get to the prison as part of initial booking. It’s not a secret. It wasn’t frequent when I did criminal defense work, but there were a couple of times I had judges issue orders hold a client in EBRPP for this specific reason.

This might be the most anti-American thing I’ve ever read on this board, and that’s a staggeringly high hurdle to get over.

Interesting. And, this is about the law that applies and how it applies, not whether he was wronged.

F'ing OweO is half correct for once.

quote:

The statement that black people cannot get lice is a myth; people of any race or hair type can get head lice. However, head lice infestations are significantly less common in people of African descent.
This lower prevalence is due to several factors related to hair structure and common hair care practices:
Hair Shape and Texture: Head lice found in the U.S. have claws better adapted for grasping hair shafts that are more circular in cross-section (common in Caucasian, Hispanic, and Asian hair types). The hair of people of African descent tends to have an oval or flatter cross-section and is often more tightly coiled, which makes it physically difficult for lice to get a firm grip and attach their eggs (nits) to the hair shaft.
Hair Products: The common use of oils, sheens, and creams in African-American hair care can create a slicker environment, making it harder for lice to move around and stay on the hair.

This is true. Not sure if it's the same case here but we used to have an inmate that would conceal razor blades in his dreads. After he was caught doing it the third time we gave him 2 choices. Let us shave/cut off your dreads or you go to our lock down cell 24 hours a day. He chose not to let us shave them off.

Edit. I bet there is a lot missing to this story that will eventually come out.

I already knew that. It is more difficult for the lice but it does happen.
