Louisiana opening up vaccine to 16 and over with underlying conditions below

moderate to severe asthma
cerebrovascular disease
cystic fibrosis
hypertension or high blood pressure
immunocompromised state from blood or bone marrow transplant, immune deficiencies, HIV, use of corticosteroids or use of other immune weakening medicines
neurologic conditions, such as dementia
liver disease
overweight
pulmonary fibrosis
thalassemia
type 1 diabetes mellitus


“Louisiana's pharmacies are being told to prepare to vaccinate anyone 16+ with certain underlying conditions ahead of governor's 12 p.m. press conference Tuesday, according to an email sent to independent pharmacies”

I’m in relatively decent shape and health but if you go by charts I’m about 10 pounds overweight. The same as everyone else.

If all the Louisiana pharmacies who have been waiting on their distributions had their vaccines tomorrow, we could fully vaccinate everyone willing by May.

Yes. So that everyone is clear, “overweight” is not the same as “obese”.

“Overweight” opens it up big time.

I think all of us white liberals can agree that even if the entire country gets vaccinated we still need to mask up, practice social distancing, no large gatherings, and stay away from family. Doing what's right is more important than having rights. #Newnormal

So, Louisiana is opening it up to pretty much everyone. If they have the doses, I agree completely with this decision.

I’ve seen about 9 adult men in the state of Louisiana that actually fit this description, and they all post this on the OT whenever a weight thread shows up.
