Louisiana mother arrested after infant tests positive for marijuana

PIERRE PART, LA (WAFB) - A 22-year-old woman is being held in prison on a 125,000 bond after she allegedly smoked marijuana hours before breastfeeding her infant.
According to the press release from the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Sheriff’s office was notified on January 20, 2019 about a sick child at a local hospital. The child was suffering from seizures.
The infant reportedly tested positive for marijuana.
A couple days later, detectives interviewed the infant’s mother, Kassidy Rodrigue. Officials say she admitted to smoking marijuana before breastfeeding.
“Rodrigue was the only person who had been around the infant and had smoked marijuana recently,” states the report.
Rodrigue was arrested and charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and child desertion. She’s being held in the Assumption Parish Prison in lieu of bond.

Does it say it did cause the seizures? The kid has seizures, blood was tested for potential causes and came back THC pos while maybe not the case still warranted the charges.
