Chalk play is on life support in LA. It may prove to work in a few small areas but Conoco has pretty much bailed and EOG hasn't made anything economic yet either. Good luck with Petroquest fresh out of bankruptcy ever doing much. I'd actually figure Marathon has the best chance due the area they're in, but the jury is still out there too.

Wont be long till the lines catch up with production. Bunch of big lines running from the Permian to the coast in the planning phase right now. Most the crews weve worked with are getting close to 5 miles/day welded coated and buried.

Land owners are getting worse and worse though. Routes are getting harder to find for any reasonable price.

Well if you own a bunch of land and also own the minerals then $1000 per acre is a pretty good influx of cash. So I'd argue landowners will make money while the oil companies spend a bunch of cash at risk of busting their pick (oilfield lingo) if they find 90% water cuts. Owning lots of land and the minerals is a good thing. You just sit and wait. And if the oil company hits it doubles your pleasure and doubles your fun.

That's not how it works unfortunately.

Second part of what he mentioned is the most important. The lack of access to capital for a lot of the indebted shale drillers appears to be coming home to roost. The majors will be some of the only ones with scale to play as everybody else looks to merge to create scale or will probably be facing tough times at these prices. The pipelines in the permian will be like every other unconventional play in that they end up being overbuilt.

The legislature can't wait to tax it for DOTD to continue falling behind in projects.

Your thoughts?

All those people in N LA who were sitting on oil and "got rich", how are they now? How is that local area doing?

Still sucks, right?

Another problem there too. Bit of a Mexican standoff with midstream companies right now too. Nobody wants to build big lines if they're going to be underutilized as all these projects come to fruition. Had one of the big letter companies cancel a 700+ mile project with that being a leading factor.

Waiting on results of COP’s Erwin and EOG’s ironwood wells. Ironwood was drilled in sixteen days which should help keep costs down. Flow back should be near a month on both.

The hope is being able to produce the Wilcox Austin and TMS in a stacked play. Dropping prices aren’t helping. I’ve been keeping up on the Austin stack blog.

Y’all looking for any Petroleum Engineers?

What type of jobs are there offshore where people without a pulse are being hired. Would love to get more info about this.

Nah. We dont need petroleum engineers to run boats, just marine engineers.

Cool. Offshore looks like it’s picking up.

And also ^^^, that’s why I don’t advise anyone reading this forum in the future to be Petroleum Engineers. Limited job opportunities these days and school doesn’t teach you about data science and other stuff that’s more important.

Butta, just look at the Drilling Info website. It’s not hard to find that information.
