If it's not permitted yet or at least in the process it wont be on there most likely.

Waiting on results of COP’s Erwin and EOG’s ironwood wells. Ironwood was drilled in sixteen days which should help keep costs down. Flow back should be near a month on both.
Well, the Erwin just got posted. 30 barrels oil per day with an ocean of water. COP is gone from this acreage ASAP as they already plugged the next well before even finishing the lateral. Will be interesting to see Kirk barrel spin this one.

Been in the bidness for a very long time, and that’s a term I’ve never heard. Did you mean “play”?

Ha Ha. Consider the old time hard rock gold miners looking to pull a few chunks of gold ore from the country rock. Busting their pick is not a good way to go about it. Fast forward to now where a company assembles a tract in a resource play where competition is fierce. A company puts up enough cash to corral 100,000 or more acres to assemble an economy of scale acreage tract. They drill one, two, three or five appraisal wells that produce water and minor oil cut or all water. That is "busting your pick" or drilling dusters, dry holes. It's not a good thing.
I heard it first many years ago after transferring from an offshore production office to an onshore tight gas sand office. A wiley Landman full of oilfield colloquialisms used the term when I heard it the first time. I laughed hard when I heard him say it. Fast forward to recently when I talked to a former colleague about his investing in a oil project in the mid-continent. He indicates most of their wells will never pay out and hence "they busted their pick" on the project. It is not a good thing.

Ouch There goes another dream. The $1000 per acre was the most I had heard of in this area. More than what I paid for the land in 85.
The TMS is still there but expensive. If the price of oil ever reaches $100 per barrel maybe my grand kids will make a few dollars. Hopefully the price of pine trees will be good closer to retirement. LOL
Guess I’ll keep looking for that next turn around.
